It’s not just about Ukraine, and it’s not even all about the oil crash: for some reasons, the Russian economy has been experiencing capital outflows for quite a long period

We only need to give you some data:

The capital outflow from Russia has started in 2008. Ever since the beginning of the crisis, there have been only three quarters in which the country recorded capital net inflows.

This is a nice answer to those arguing that Russia is in crisis only because of the evil western sanctions.
Beware: there’s something seriously wrong with Russia.
