Yes, there will be dire consequences and Athens will go through a financial storms worse than the one of the last default, but the Greek people cannot suffer for decades only for the hope of things to get better
What the EU is doing to Greece is inhuman, and this chart from The Economist says it all:
There is not a single economic parameter in which Greece has performed better than the average in the Euro Area.
Greece cannot afford to be in the Eurosystem, and it’s time that someone admits it (the impression is that even the new Syriza government does not want to acknowledge that).
